I'm very pleased to announce today at the historical moment of 12:34:56 on 7/8/09 (123456789) the launch of the first canine genetic rule based expert system called IBreeder. Our intention is that through the powerful use of Information Technology and genetic science, canine breeders can take the advantage of leveraging the powerful rule based database engine and the RDX( Reader , Designer & the eXecuter) technology to arrive at breeding patterns and make an accurate judgement on the outcome of the genetic traits of the future litters. Our goal is to minimize the educated guessing in the canine breeding business and enable breeders and geneticists to use our patent pending mathematical algorithm. In the initial avatar the software looks at the working abilities of the German Shepherd Breed because I feel that the workability attributes are more objectified and discreet in nature rather than the Beauty and the look of the dog which is so prevalent in the showline German Shepherds. The scope is intended to broaden and include other breeds of canines and also sundry genetic traits. For the first time in the history of animal genetics we are trying to come up with a mathematical equation to solve the mystery of canine genetic traits. IBreeder is an attempt to build a forecasting system to make, not an educated guess as is commonly practiced in breeding dogs, but to make a logical conclusion and forecast at results of mating two dogs with a certain pedigree in the family tree. The future versions would also include our attempt at Natural Language query for coming up with tailor made pedigree results in dog breedings.
